The Sun Herald | 03/08/2007 | Pickets up at Northrop Grumman as strike begins: "PASCAGOULA - Pickets started going up at the Northrop Grumman shipyard in Pascagoula this morning, halting work at the company that is Mississippi's largest private employer.
The decision to strike came after a 7 a.m. meeting by union leaders.
All unions, except for office workers, are now on strike at the shipyard, according to Jim Couch, business agent for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 733. But office workers will recognize the picket line.
'Workers are walking out of the shipyard right now,' said a worker with the carpenter's union around 9 a.m."
