Injuries, Damage Occur In Mississippi Storms; Emergency Declared
Nine people suffered injuries ranging from critical head trauma to broken bones early Friday when a powerful storm system packing a tornado plowed through rural areas of Kemper County on Friday, officials said. There were no reports of fatalities during the storms that began late Thursday and left scattered damage in Harrison, Jones, Kemper, Lowndes, Neshoba, Newton, and Stone counties, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
